Richard
C. Bell-Irving
President
& co-founder, was formerly Marriott International's Senior Vice President
of Human Resources Service Delivery and Support and was directly responsible
for developing HR strategy and policy for Marriott's brands and 195,000 +
employees.
During
his 25 years with Marriott, he held many positions, including executive management
of two 400-room hotels with 800 employees and $28M in annual sales. Mr. Bell-Irving's
responsibilities included development of marketing/advertising strategies,
accounting, hiring and related policies, all facets of hotel operations, administration
and customer satisfaction.
Notable
Achievements:
- Introduced
to Marriott and oversaw satellite broadcast training as a learning development
and change management vehicle.
- Created
an open posting and career management system for Marriott Managers - succession
planning, tracking, recruiting, screening, training and retention.
- Created
the business case to incorporate an enterprise-wide management system (PeopleSoft)
for all Marriott divisions - 195,000 employees and the subsequent redesign
of the related HR processes.
- Created
the vision for the use of technology to transform business processes in
Human Resources. Conceptualized and completed the prototype for Marriott's
employee intranet.
